I really appreciate this sight and everything you do for us to make this way of life easier and delicious. The only thing I’d like to see change is:
When I’m reading or looking at a picture of meal plans I’d like to be able to press on the picture of the food and have the recipe come up straight away. It doesn’t, tho, when you’re looking at a picture of a keto meal plan, before you go into the recipe section. Often that picture was an example of the recipes and is set out Monday, Tuesday etc, but has no recipe there and no name on the dish and so when you get into recipes you need to look through them all to find that picture again. I’m sorry if this sounds rambling. It’s a bit hard to explain. If I’m looking for something that looks delicious and I’m not following weekly plans, this little hiccup is a little bit frustrating. Otherwise, thank you all for your massive effort. I am a happy Australian dietdoctor member.

Deli Turkey has maize starch in it - maize (corn) is not keto and high carb!

You know, you can buy quality meat without the sugars. Come on, help yourself out a little before discrediting all the work Diet Doctor does.

You can substitute with any deli meat you prefer, just make sure and watch out for added sugars and starches.

Each serving was surprisingly very filling! As for the deli meat, you can find great quality at Whole Foods or similar stores.

When I review what is in the meal, the avocados alone have a significant amount of carbs in them? Is this truly the right items to be eating?

This total meal is 9g net carbs. The recipe as written makes 2 servings.

I'm not sure which meal plan you are following, but lunch is almost always leftovers from dinner the night before.

This is 6g net carbs per serving, not 9. The number in the green circle indicates the carb count.

Many of us greatly appreciate what you guys are doing! I am grateful for the idea's, and it does require research and work on my part as well. If you want to get into Ketosis, read what foods to dive you into that, but you can NOT do all Protein and zero Carb's forever you jeopardize kidneys. Avocado is a great and approved KETO food because of the nutrient's it provides as well as...yes...that awful word CARBS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta throw the good carbs in there at various points, NO SUGAR, RICE, BREADS that turn to bad carb's …..welcome to Chemistry 101 LOLOL You will figure out what will work for you with the help from this site. Best of Luck to all of us trying to loose weight, we are not alone :)

Hi everyone,
I upped my "servings" to 3 because there are 3 of us that will be eating the meals in the menu plan, however, when I went to cook the meals, I saw that the actual recipe as "Instructions for 2 servings" on it. In my case of planning my meals for 3 people, does this mean that the love recipe should serve 6 people...????? I am possibly overthinking it, but I am a lille confused. Any help would be most appreciated, thanks!Reply: #23

If you click through to the actual recipe page then you may need to adjust the number of servings. For 3 people for a lunch with no leftovers, this would be set to 3 servings.

Very easy lunch to bring to work. I had mixed in dried parsley, dill, chives, garlic and onion with the cream cheese for celery sticks.

Great, filling lunch! Unfortunately, I forgot to check the label on the deli turkey, which has modified food starch. Next time I'll choose more carefully!

Cottage cheese will have more fat than cream cheese. Perhaps high fat ricotta?

Super simple and surprise tasty. Avocado have for whatever reason started giving me pretty severe heartburn so I replaced it with some poached eggs and it seemed to work well.

There are absolutely deli meats out there without sugar and dextrose in them. It is up to you to make sure you are buying appropriate keto foods.

Would it be ok to add a splash of Apple Cider Vinegar to the greens and avocado for a bit of acidic balance of flavours?

Keto tuna salad says instructions are for 4 servings but the recipe says 1+1 serving lunch and dinner. So does that mean to eat 3/4 can tuna for one meal or divide the amount to have half left for lunch? It is not on the grocery list.
When ingredients are given, is that the amount for that meal or do you double the ingredients since you will eat it for the next day’s lunch and are preparing it ahead for the next day?Reply: #37

That makes 2 total servings, so half is for lunch the next day.

Actually, people CAN leave out all carbs and are very healthy doing so. Research and you can easily find long time carnivores (some 10 years plus with no carbs at all except trace amounts in meats). These people are thriving, reversing health problems, etc, eating meat only or meat and dairy, eggs, butter.

Hello, just joined today! Unfortunately I am allergic to avocado. I noticed many recipes include avocados. What would be a good substitute and alternative that would provide equal keto benefits?

I just joined, and am totally excited to begin this lifestyle of eating. I have a question. I inititially chose a 10 day plan. After reading a lot about the different plans, if I understand correctly, I can personalize my plan by choosing from the recipes to create my own plan. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you
