What’s covered?
Professional dental cleanings
Professional cleanings and prosthetic cleanings can be expensive and range anywhere from €85 to €125, depending on your dentist.
Dental insurance will cover this cost which means healthier teeth that will last you a lifetime.
Preventative treatments
Our German dental insurance will also cover preventative treatments like fluoride for strengthening enamel, sensitivity treatments, and fissure sealant for reducing tooth decay.
If you're looking for more cosmetic options, advanced dental insurance also includes an allowance of €200 for teeth whitening every two years.
High-quality fillings
Public insurance will only cover amalgam fillings, which has a metallic silver color, therefore, to get a color match and high-quality material, you'll have to pay out of pocket.
Our dental policy covers high-quality fillings and other dental treatments with a combined limit on the basic plan. The advanced plan offers unlimited coverage from the start
Advanced coverage
Tooth replacement coverage
Our German dental insurance will also cover the most expensive operations like getting crowns, veneers, onlays, inlays, and bridges.
Not only are you covered for the procedure itself, but also any pre- or post-operations that is required including bone reconstruction.
Plans that fit your lifestyle
Not everyone has the same needs, which is why we offer different plans.

Frequently asked questions
How does dental insurance work?
When you receive dental treatments, you'll have to pay for it upfront. Your public insurance might cover some of the treatment, but you’ll only be billed for what’s leftover. You just need to submit the signed bill in your Feather account under the “My policies” page. You’ll be reimbursed directly by us in 3 - 6 weeks depending on the treatment and amount of the claim.
How are dental services reimbursed?
We reimburse the costs of dental services in line with the service costs outlined in the Fee Schedule for Dentists (Gebührenordnungen für Zahnärzte, GOZ) and/or the Fee Schedule for Doctors (Gebührenordnungen für Ärzte). We reimburse technical services (e.g. materials and labor costs) at reasonable rates.

What is your cancellation policy?
Each policy period is 1 year from the official start date of your policy.
Within your first policy period:
• There is a 14-day right of withdrawal period that you may exercise should you wish to cancel your policy after purchase. We will refund the premiums paid into the policy and cancel the contract from the start. When exercising your right to withdrawal, any benefits received during this 14-day period must be returned.
• If you have not received a reimbursem*nt (dental claim payout) and request to cancel your dental plan, your policy will end at the end of the month you asked for its cancellation.
• If you have already received a reimbursem*nt (dental claim payout) and request to cancel within the first policy period, you must wait until the one-year contract period to officially cancel the plan.
• If you move out of Germany and/or no longer hold public health insurance, you can cancel your policy immediately. In this case, you must provide proof such as "Abmeldung" or a termination document from your public health insurer.
After the first policy period:
• You can cancel the policy immediately (regardless if you've already received a claim reimbursem*nt). The end date will be the final day of the month that you requested the cancellation."
